Brandy & Cognac

Made famous at Harry’s New York Barin Paris in the early 1900s and named for a French gun used in WWI. Brandy with lemon juice and mixed with champagne served with a lemon twist.

In postwar Paris, the Sidecar became a signature drink for the Hemingway ex-pat crowd. Two parts Cognac, one part Cointreau, one part lemon. These are the perfect proportions of this cocktail.

The Widow does not cast her strong herbaceous smell on everyone, but for those who succumb to her heady mixture of Lairds, Benedictine, and Chartreuse, her effect is both powerful and addictive.

A lighter cocktail comprised of brandy and yellow Chartreuse with lemon, equals nothing short of elegant.

A variation of the earlier gin-based cocktail simply called the Alexander, this cognac-based classic is a wonderful blend of flavors to almost any palette. Although a dessert cocktail by category this blend of flavors is sure to delight the masses. Cognac, nutmeg, creme de cocoa, and creme.
